Frank Leslie M.S.
has been retired as an electrical
engineer from Harris Corp. for
six years. Living in Palm Bay,
Fla., he is active as a trip
leader in the Sierra Club.

Robert M. Ball has
been appointed by Florida Gov.
Jeb Bush to a two-year term on
the Statewide Intermodal Transportation
Advisory Council. Ball is executive
director of the Lee County Port
Authority and directs operations
at Page Field General Aviation
Airport and Southwest Florida
International Airport in Ft.
Myers. He also serves on the
advisory board to the School
of Aeronautics.

Stephanie (Kalinyak)
Murphy works at Patrick
Air Force Base, Fla. as a manager
of information systems for Computer
Sciences Raytheon.
Diane (Goncalves) DeLuna ’85
M.B.A. recently graduated from
Columbia Theological Seminary
in Decatur, Ga. She has accepted
a position as minister of administration
at First United Methodist Church
of Lancaster, Pa. Her contact

Fla. She and husband Robert
are parents to Steven and Sarah

John Popolizio M.B.A.
is a managing partner with Devon
Procurement Advisors in Secaucus,
N. J. The firm offers expertise
in contracting for information
technology, specializing in multi-site
geographical diverse corporations.
Christos Lygouris M.S.
is commanding officer of the
Greek Navy supply center in Helioupolis,
Greece, where he lives with his
wife, Gianna.

Luis Castillo is
president of Bestway Service
Corp, Coral Springs, Fla., where
he resides with wife, Katiuska
and children Daniel and Andrea.
Earl Handy lives in Kaneohe Bay,
Hawaii where he is a mechanic/boat
repairer for Marine Corps Community
Service.

Julie Barker ’ 93
M.S. received the 2003 University
of Connecticut Outstanding Physics
Teacher of the Year Award. She
is a physics and astronomy teacher
at Cheshire High School, Cheshire,

two infants, Gannon Robert and
McKenna Marie. The happy family

Stephen Forlow is
a research investigator at Bristol-Myers

Tammy Summers has
been the aquatic preserve manager
at the Apalachicola National
Estuarine Research Reserve in
Florida for seven years. Beginning
in August 2004, she will serve
in the Peace Corps in the South
Pacific region working with a
marine resource conservation

Melissa (Ruddick) Wilkers on
lives in Virginia Beach, Va.
Both she and husband Jason are
naval officers. They had their
first child in Nov. 2003.
Thomas Crosby is a first-year
student at Florida State University
Law School in Tallahassee.
1999
Laurie Knowles works
as a team leader with Northrop
Grumman Ship Systems in Pascagoula,
Miss. She
serves as an officer in the National
Guard 890th engineering battalion.

Berndt and husband Michael

Ann (Finucane) Sage married
Joseph Sage in May 2003. She
is currently serving in the U.S.
Army, stationed at Ft. Bragg,
N.C. and flying Blackhawk helicopters.
Joseph is also stationed at Ft.
Bragg and flies Kiowa warrior

Scott Bell M.S.
is the training liaison for the
Ship Self Defense System of the
U.S. Navy in Dan Neck, Va. He
served aboard the USS Theodore
Roosevelt as the networks officer
during tours in both Operation
Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
He and wife Eve live in Chesapeake,

IN MEMORIAM
LTC Stephen Miller ’70
M.S. suddenly passed away on
August 2002. He had retired in
1990 from an Army career that
included 14 years in overseas
assignments. Among his awards
and decorations were the Bronze
Star, Meritorious Service Medal
and the Army Commendation Medal.
In 1991 he joined the Army and
Navy Academy in Carlsbad, Calif.,
serving first as an instructor,
then superintendent, and then
President in 1998. Miller Hall
was dedicated at the academy
in October 2003, honoring LTC
Miller. He is survived by his
wife and two daughters. |
